The guitarist
A sound that makes the room feel expensive.
Vinny Valentino is a Grammy-nominated jazz guitarist, composer, bandleader and educator based in River Edge, New Jersey, with 40+ years of performing. He plays live jazz for weddings, galas and private events across New Jersey and New York City.
His playing sits somewhere between a quiet fireside conversation and a late-night club. He has toured with drummer Steve Smith of Journey, performed in duo with the vocalist Mark Murphy, and studied jazz at Howard University.
He leads every lineup himself, from solo guitar to a trio of guitar, bass and drums to a full ensemble with strings, and tailors the program to the evening: standards and bossa nova for the cocktail hour, warm grooves for dinner, and a little more fire when the dance floor opens.
Alongside the stage, he has built PlayAlongTunes, one of the web's most trusted libraries of play-along jazz tracks, since 2008.
